Taiwan: 1.5 million plastic bottles built into a three-storey exhibition hall

A three-storey exhibition hall built from 1.5 million plastic bottles was completed in Taiwan. The exhibition hall was built by Taiwan Far East Group, Taiwan’s financial and construction company, and it took three years to complete.

According to design contractor Xiao Zhi R&D Sustainable Energy Development Co., Ltd., these plastic bottles are collected from Taiwan's local waste stream and are processed into a solid interlocking block, enough to withstand the impact of the earthquake.

The temporary plastic bottle called EcoARK was built into a $4.2 million exhibition hall with an air-conditioning system powered by rainwater. After the upcoming fashion show in the area, the wall panel of the plastic bottle exhibition hall will be demolished and re-installed in other places.
