Large-scale TZM alloy plate was successfully developed

In November 2003, Jinduicheng Molybdenum Technology Center successfully completed the research and production of large-size TZM alloy sheet.
The technical center should meet the requirements of foreign customers. The specifications of the TZM alloy sheet developed and produced are 320mm×250mm×15mm, net weight is 12.3Kg, and the actual blank weight exceeds 18Kg. The researchers successfully solved the problem by adjusting the alloy composition, sintering process, and rolling process. Non-uniform distribution of single TZM alloy sheet materials, delamination of plate rolling, cracking and low yield. By controlling the rolling process and subsequent heat treatment process, the mechanical properties of the plate are improved.
The results show that the distribution uniformity of the second phase of the TZM alloy and its existing form, as well as the reasonable distribution of rolling temperature and pass deformation are the key to control the properties of the plate.
The tensile strength and elongation of the developed sheet reached 845 Mpa and 23.5%, respectively, which were higher than the corresponding 760 Mpa and 10% mechanical properties of the ASTM387 standard.
