Common failures and treatment methods of electronic balance

Content: Generally, electronic balances have the function of fault tracing. When the normal electronic balance is turned on, it will display CHO ~ CH9, and later it will display the zero position 0.00 ... g. The precision is different, and the number of reserved digits of the display zero is different. In addition, the analysis balance also has various other fault codes "E1" ~ "E8", "H", "L", etc. If any of the above codes appear, it indicates that the balance has malfunctioned. Only by identifying the cause of the malfunction can the problem be solved smoothly. In the past few years, the author has found some experience in practical work, and can quickly and accurately carry out commissioning and repair, so as to discuss with colleagues who are engaged in balance maintenance work. Handle in a targeted manner in the order in which the balance fails.

One of the fault phenomena: what to do when the balance displays "CH2"?

(1) In the case where the balance is not opened, first check whether the balance pan is placed properly, and whether there is friction between the pan and the shell, and then start the machine to check and deal with it.
(2) Open the balance shell, check whether all the connectors inside the balance are loose, and whether there is something near the sensor to wipe, re-plug each connector, start the inspection process.
(3) There is a problem with the A / D converter of the electronic balance. Repair or replace the A / D converter. (4) The microprocessor of the electronic balance is defective. Repair or replace the microprocessor.
(5) When turning on and off the power, observe whether the sensor is working. If the sensor does not work, you should consider the broken gold wire on the sensor (test with a multimeter) or consider whether the position of the zero detection grating is changed. You can adjust the position of the grating by moving it up and down to make it in the best state. (6) For electronic balances with internal calibration function, the internal calibration weight may fall off or get stuck, and can be adjusted and reset.
(7) One of the CA3130 integrated blocks on the analog board is broken and can be replaced with new ones.

Fault phenomenon 2: What should I do when the balance displays "CH7"?
When "CH7" appears, 80% of the balances can be determined as the dedicated memory of the memory device is broken, namely 2506 (2401), P25 (P26). There are other reasons, no longer one by one.
Note: The manufacturers of this product are not interchangeable.

Fault phenomenon 3: What should I do when the balance displays "CH5"?

(1) When the balance is turned on, the user operates improperly and should turn it off and turn it on again.
(2) If there is a problem with each connector or special control board of the electronic balance, check each connector, and require that the connection is correct and well plugged, and overhaul or replace the special control board.

Symptom 4: What should I do when the balance displays "E2"?

(1) One-thousandth electronic balance gold wire is broken, and it can be re-soldered after testing with a multimeter (the temperature of the electric iron should not be too high).
(2) One ten thousandth electronic balance BCY58 triode ring needs to be replaced with a new one.
(3) The BC307 transistor is broken, replace it with a new one.
(4) The LM399 tube is broken. Replace it with a new one.
(5) The 741 integrated block is broken and replaced with a new one.

Fault phenomenon 5: What should I do when the balance displays "L"?

Check whether the weighing pan is placed properly. The reliable spring of the 1/1000 balance is too tight and can be loosened. Check whether the connectors are loose. Check whether the position of the zero detection grating changes.

Symptom 6: What should I do if the balance displays “E1”, displays 888… cycle, or the buzzer often sounds after the balance is turned on?

When encountering the above three situations, it should be considered that the CPU chip has failed, and only the replacement of the CPU can solve it. After booting, there is no display after 888 ..., use a multimeter to check whether the output voltage is normal, and replace the 7805 voltage regulator block.

Fault phenomenon 7: after turning on the balance, the fault code tracking has passed, but it does not show zero.

(1) If the calibration weight is in contact with the sensor, open the balance housing, check the position of the internal calibration weight, and reinstall the weight.
(2) There is friction between the weighing pan and the lower bottom plate, which makes the balance unstable. Check whether the bottom ditch collides with each other and deal with it.

Fault phenomenon eight: after the balance is weighed, how to deal with the indication does not return to zero?
(1) If the balance is not level, adjust the balance level.
(2) The warm-up time of the balance is short, it should be warmed up for more than 30min.
(3) The balance needs to be calibrated regularly.
(4) The linear error is too large and exceeds the allowable range. Linear adjustment should be performed according to the balance manual.
