Abstract: Granular salt can cause a certain puncture effect on the packaging bag, which is one of the hidden dangers affecting the overall sealing performance of the package. This paper takes the anti-puncture test procedure of a plastic composite film for salt packaging as an example, introduces the test method for testing the puncture resistance of food packaging, and adopts the test principle and equipment XLW (EC) intelligent electric pull test machine parameters, applicable. The introduction of the scope and operation process provides a reference for enterprises to monitor the puncture resistance of packaging film.

1, meaning

Salt is an indispensable seasoning for daily diet. According to different sources of raw materials, salt can be divided into sea salt, well salt, lake salt, mineral salt, etc. No matter what type of salt is a crystalline solid with different particle size.

2, test samples

This time, a plastic composite film for a brand of salt packaging was used as a test sample to test its puncture resistance.

3. Test basis

This test is conducted in accordance with GB/T 10004-2008 "Packaging plastic composite film, bag dry composite, extrusion compounding" in the relevant provisions on puncture strength.

4, test equipment

This test uses the XLW (EC) intelligent electric power tensile testing machine to test the puncture strength of the sample. The equipment is independently developed and produced by Jinan Languang Electromechanical Technology Co., Ltd.

4.1 Principle of the test

Puncture strength (force) refers to the maximum force generated during the penetration of a sample by a specified diameter puncture needle. During the test, the sample is clamped in the fixture, and the specimen is not moved during the puncture process. The upper collet of the device is installed with the puncture needle that meets the standard requirements. After the test is started, the puncture needle moves upward according to the set test speed. In the upper chuck of the device, a precision force sensor and a displacement sensor are arranged to accurately test the force value change and the displacement change (related to the deformation of the sample) generated during the puncture process, and display the force value of the test in real time. Displacement, thereby obtaining the puncture resistance of the sample.

5, the test process

(1) Cut a sample of 5 specimens with a diameter of 100 mm from the surface of the salt-packed sample.

(2) Load one piece of the sample and clamp it in the equipment fixture to fix the clamp on the equipment.

(3) Parameter setting parameter information such as sample name, sample thickness, and test speed.

(4) Test click test option, the test starts, the puncture needle moves upward according to the set test speed, and the sample is pierced. The device automatically records the change of the force value during the puncture process, and after the test is finished, the puncture force is displayed.

(5) Repeat the loading and start the test operation until all 5 samples have been tested.

6, the results

The puncture forces of the five samples tested in this test were 8.032 N, 8.116 N, 8.109 N, 8.076 N, and 8.127 N, respectively. The average puncture force of the salt bag samples was taken as the average of the test results of 8.092 N.

7. Conclusion

Puncture resistance is one of the basic properties that salt packaging should have. It is an important factor in determining whether the packaging bag is likely to cause a decrease in barrier properties or even break the bag under the puncture action of salt.
