With the popularity of mountaineering in the country, many mountaineering enthusiasts are now climbing their high-altitude peaks while gradually shifting their climbing targets to technical peaks. Bogda Peak is a representative technical mountain. Although it is not high above sea level, it is unique and dangerous. Her steep mountains and majestic spirit are awesome. Although the peak had been climbed by British and Soviet mountaineering teams before 1980, the Chinese Mountaineering Association had also established a mountaineering training camp in Bogda Peak and climbed the surrounding peaks until June 9, 1981. Only 11 people from the Kyoto team in Japan created a record for the summit. Since 1998, the climbing team of the Urumqi Mountaineering Expedition Association has made one or two trips each year since it was the first time that the country’s nationals have climbed the summit of Bogda. Since 1998, the climbing conditions at the Bogda Peak have been:
On August 5, 1998, the climbing team of the Mountaineering Expedition Association of Urumqi climbed to the top of eight people. On August 14, 1998, the climbing team of the Hong Kong Pan-Climbing Association climbed the Bogda Peak and was missing.
In July 1999, two mountain friends in Beijing failed to climb the summit.
In July 1999, the Huashan Mountain Club searched for the missing members of the Hong Kong Port.
In July 2000, an amateur mountaineering team in Beijing climbed to a height of 4,700 meters above sea level.
In August 2001, the Japanese senior mountaineering team climbed the summit of Bogda Peak at 4,300 meters.
August 5, 2002 Urumqi City Mountaineering Expedition Association Western Region Touring Team 3 climbed to the top.
In August 2003, the Mountaineering Expedition Association of Urumqi climbed 9 people.
In August 2004, the climbing team of the Mountaineering Adventure Association of Urumqi climbed to a height of 5,080 meters above sea level.
In July 2005, an amateur mountaineering team in Beijing reached 5,080 meters above sea level.
In August 2005, the Hong Kong climbing team reached 4,700 meters above sea level.
On August 15, 2005, 13 people climbed the summit of the Mountaineering Adventure Association of Urumqi.
Snow and Ice God Bogda Peak
Bogda Mountain is the main mountain in the eastern part of the northern sky. “Bogda†means “god†and “spirit†in the Mongolian language. The peak of Bogda Peak, which is 5445 meters above sea level, is covered with ice, snow, and ice. The ancient Mongolians worshipped "God Hill" and got its name.
Bogda Mountain is a branch of the eastern part of the Tianshan Mountains. It rises from the Urumqi Fault Zone in the west and extends to the territory of Balikun. It is more than 300 kilometers long. Between peaks and peaks, extremely dangerous. The main peak Bogda Peak is 5,445 meters above sea level and is located at 88.degree. East, 43.degree. North, and is located in the territory of Fukang County in Xinjiang. It is a famous peak in the eastern section of the Tianshan Mountains. It rises and goes straight into the sky. Although the altitude of Bogda Peak is not astonishing, climbing is extremely difficult. In the main peak, seven peaks of 5000 meters or more are arranged. The peaks of the Bogda Peak consist of Paleozoic gabbros and diabaseites, with three peaks within a distance of 2. km from the Tu-pilat Peak (5,287 m) and Zhu Manti Lecques (5,213 m). They are closely aligned and stand in a penholder, towering above the peaks. Bogda Peak is made up of snow and ice all year round, known as the "Snow Sea." The bedrock at the top of the mountain peak is exposed, and the rock wall is standing; in the middle, it is covered with snow and ice, and it does not change all the year round; below the peak, it is a glacier steep valley, and the terrain is very important. It mainly has 4 ridges: the northeast ridge, the southwest ridge, the north ridge, and the southeast ridge.
Bogda Peak borders the Junggar Basin in the north, and the Dacheng Valley and the Turpan Basin face each other in the south. It is surrounded by deserts. The climate here is mainly affected by the high air in the northwest. As it is located in the hinterland of the Asian continent, the climate is very obvious. Hawthorn hot; middle and high mountains are cold and humid. The seasons are not very clear. The coldest month in January is that the average monthly temperature is -6 degrees Celsius to -9 degrees Celsius; the highest temperature in July, the average monthly temperature is 10-12 degrees. The annual precipitation does not exceed 200 mm, the northern slope is more than the southern slope, and a large amount of precipitation concentrates in July and August in summer, accounting for two-thirds of the annual precipitation. From the end of September to the end of May, it is a snow-covered period. The thickness of snow can reach 65 cm and it is not suitable for entering mountains. There are few winds in the peak area and the average annual wind speed is 2.7-2.9 m/s. Within a day, the wind speed and cloud cover generally increase in the afternoon and the weather deteriorates. In short, in June, July, and August each year, it is the period of mountaineering activity. According to the experience of years of climbing, the best time for climbing is between mid-July and August 10.
The Bogda Mountain is steep, with a slope of 70-80 degrees on the western slope and the southern slope. Only the northeastern slope is slightly gentler, and the Bogda Peak is generally used as a master-level climber in the mountaineering community. Since the opening of the peak in the early 1980s, only a handful of teams have climbed and paid a heavy price. In 1980, when the Japanese mountaineering team Baishui rushed through a huge fan-shaped glacier , unfortunately fell into the ice seam. In August 1998, Wang Tienan and Zhang Dong of the Urumqi Mountaineering Expedition Association opened the Chinese first summit of Deng Bofeng. At the same time, three members of the Hong Kong Climbing Team disappeared when they rushed to the Everest. After two years of unsuccessful search, they became a climb on the Bogda Mountain. A mystery in history.
The transportation to the Bogda Peak Mountaineering Base Camp is very convenient. There are usually two routes to the Geda Peak Mountaineering Camp.
One line is: When driving from Urumqi, follow the 213 National Highway for 50 kilometers to Chaiwo Fort, then drive north into the road and drive along the mountain road for more than 40 kilometers to reach the three Mizoguchi exits. From then on, the car cannot continue driving. The team generally walks for two days and walks 25 kilometers to reach the base of the Bogda Peak Mountaineering Camp. Materials can be rented for horse or camel transportation. The cost of renting a jeep for this line is 300 yuan to 400 yuan per vehicle and it is sent to three trenches. Each horse transports goods to the base camp. No matter the number of days, the cost is 200 yuan.
Another route is: 110 km by car to the first parking lot of Tianchi, and then take the shuttle bus to the second parking lot, replace the battery car to the west bank of Tianchi, and take a boat to the south shore of Tianchi. Hike or hire horses along the Great Winter Ditch for 28 km, or travel along the General Ditch for 25 km to the Bogda Peak Mountaineering Base Camp. It is very convenient to rent horses from Tianchi to base camp. The price of renting horses is slightly more expensive than the southern slope, but the cost of reaching the south shore of Tianchi is much higher than the cost of reaching three banks. Renting an 11-seater van to arrive at Tianchi No. 1 parking lot costs 400 yuan, Tianchi ticket costs 60 yuan per person, shuttle bus fare is 15 yuan per person, and battery car costs 5 yuan per person. The fare for arriving at the south bank of Tianchi is 20 yuan per person. Materials also need to be rented to the South Bank.
