As a world leader in reheat stretch blow molding equipment and services, Sidel began operations in 1961 when it was mainly manufacturing hollow blow molding equipment and molds.

1964
Sidel equipment was the first to produce mineral water bottles with hollow PVC and was approved by the French Ministry of Health.

1981
Sidel introduced its first rotary SBO reheat stretch blow molding machine for the production of PET bottles.

1984
Sidel's SBO series has become the fastest reheat stretch blow molding machine in the world with speeds of up to 16,000 bottles per hour.

2005
4,000 Sidel SBO machines are operating around the world and they account for 60% of the global PET blow molding machine production capacity.

The bottling plant has invested its core expertise in the manufacture and supply of preforms and empty bottles. They mainly produce PET bottles, but often also use hollow technology to produce HDPE, polypropylene and other types of bottles.
The bottles produced can be used as a myriad of product applications such as water, carbonated soft drinks, fruit juices, alcohol, detergents, energy water, instant tea, and more.

Since the early 1980s, Sidel has been focusing on the business models and needs of its bottle-making customers.

As a result, by 2005, Sidel had put more than 1,000 machines into the operations of its bottle-making plant customers.
