New polyurethane foam is completely biodegradable

According to reports, the project was jointly developed by the privately-owned Golden Dragon Company of Taixing City and the Guangzhou Institute of Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the project “Using Carbon Dioxide to Prepare Aliphatic Polyethylene Ethers and Degradable Polyurethane Foam” passed the appraisal. At present, the project has invested 15 million yuan, and successfully carried out trial production, the annual production of 2000 tons of resin.

According to reports, the project uses carbon dioxide to produce aliphatic polyethylene carbonate materials. The innovations of this project are: original carbon dioxide activation technology; original and controllable molecular weight carbon dioxide copolymer preparation technology, optimized copolymerization process; the prepared polyurethane foam can be completely biodegradable without leaving harmful substances, with high High strength, high modulus, rich carbon dioxide unit, easy to achieve flame retardant.
