High-tech parenting products are selling inspiration: choice is the need of life

Technology has made the life of fathers and mothers a lot easier. British Bleep Bleeps has launched a range of high-tech baby products.

Founder and CEO Tom Evans designed these products because on the day his daughter was sick, he stayed up until 3 am.

"I measured her body temperature, which is 38.2 degrees, but I don't understand if this is the child's normal body temperature, or a bit high," he said. “I like the other novice parents, I took out the phone query, then I was wondering why the two devices could not be connected?”

Evans was working on digital marketing, design and technology at the time, and he seriously considered his design ideas.

“There is not much design thinking in the market about parenting equipment. I want to bring some changes to my parents’ world--you become a father or mother, and it doesn’t mean you have to lose your life.”

The first product is the Sammy Screamer, a triangular alarm that can be attached to a stroller or school bag and sounds an alarm when motion is detected.

The alarm device is available in six colors and was launched after Evans's wallet was taken by the thief from the stroller.

The second product to be introduced to the market in January 2017 is Suzy Snooze, a smart night light, sleep instructor and baby detector that helps children get to sleep faster with light and sound. The device can be controlled by a smartphone.

Sammy Screamer raised £90,000 within 24 hours of the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter; then Suzy Snooze raised £70,000 in a day in 2016.

Bleep Bleeps conducted product research on the Mumsnet website (a family-based parenting communication platform established in 2000, which has grown into the largest parent community in the UK), and five new products are coming to market.

Lily Loco is a positioning pendant; David Camera is a baby monitor and thermometer; Ultra Stan is an ultrasonic monitor; Cecil G is a positioning bracelet; and Tony Tempa is an ear thermometer.

“All products are inspired by the challenges of parents in real life, and they become an integral part of family life,” Evans said, adding that English-speaking countries and Japan are the main markets.
