Environmental protection has become the responsibility and obligation of human beings. On drupa, environmental protection materials have become a trump card for many manufacturers.

Agfa

Agfa launched a number of environmentally friendly chemical-free CTP plates on drupa, including the thermal plates Green Star: azurats and violet laser: aspire. Green Star version: azurats is: azura upgrade product. Upgraded: azurats combines the coating cleaning unit with a more sensitive coating to achieve a significant increase in productivity on each thermal platemaking machine. :aspire is Agfa's chemical-free processing plate for violet laser CTP. With regard to the speed of plate making, Kodak is the star of drupa CTP. Kodak launched the fastest newspaper magnus 800 platemaking machine in drupa this year – producing 60 8-inch plates per hour. It uses a new thermal imaging head that can increase the laser's transmit power to twice that of the original. The magnus 800z can achieve speeds of up to 35 plates per hour when processing Kodak thermal direct free plates.

Energy-saving point of view

ECRM CTP has always been a model of energy saving and consumption reduction. In this year's Drupa, ECRM introduced a new violet laser CTP platesetter, the MAKO CTP, which consumes as much energy as three 100w bulbs. For some commercial printing companies, using an ECRM platesetter can save more than $1,000 per year in energy consumption.

Inkjet CTP - a new darling of plate making

In drupa this time, inkjet platemaking has also become a fashion. Jetplate Systems has demonstrated isetter products on-site. The jetplate CTP system is based on the epson stylus color 3000 inkjet printer. It improves the drive's positioning accuracy to ±0.05mm, and prints on the plate using a special plate-making ink called liquid light. Graphic, this plate-making ink chemically reacts with the coating applied on the aluminum base plate and is fixed on the aluminum plate. After the development treatment, the non-graphic coating is removed, and then the solid plate treatment is applied to obtain the coating. Machine printed plates.
