In order to improve the input speed, we must think of a simple and easy method, that is, to replace the bar code.
First, what is the bar code
Bar Code (Bar Code) is a kind of bar-shaped symbol for mechanical recognition. It is a parallel black-and-white stripe of different thicknesses and different combinations of basic numbers and English letters. The stripe of digital data is printed on the goods according to the spelling method. (such as boxes, stocks, labels, or the product itself) for automated entry into the "identification symbol" of a computer or a statistical machine.
The bar code must be read by the scanner. The "reading" bar code is combined with the time factor consisting of a tolerance bar and a blank space. In order for the computer to receive complete information, there must be a signal to start and finish the bar code. Inform the start and end of this bar code message to separate the difference between this bar code data and the pen information.
Second, the composition of the bar code symbol
The bar code symbol looks like a combination of thick and thin lines from the surface, but it is full of meaningful information on the right instrument. In order to determine that the optoelectronic system can fully read all the signals and make the most accurate judgments, in addition to the main data of the barcode, it is necessary to inform the machine of necessary relevant information. And form a barcode group.

1. Start Margin and Stop Margin are static areas. They are typical blank areas with no characters and no stripes.
2. Begin to read the signal and place it before the first character of the barcode data signal. It is a special barcode with a blank pattern to identify the start signal of the barcode data symbol. The decoder must first recognize that the character symbol actually exists, then handle the signal from the reader and confirm that the signal is not an incoherent symbol that has been unexpectedly scanned.
3. The data signal (Data) is the main source of data. There are various barcodes, such as 25 yards and 39 yards. The stripes of the various representative codes must be planned in advance, and must be different from the start and end numbers. It is not similar to avoid accidental mistakes caused by machine misreading.
4. Stop symbol The symbol â” is also a special stripe and blank pattern. Its purpose is to inform the decoder that the batch of data has been transmitted. The decoder immediately stops the input of the data message after obtaining this information. On the one hand, if the data message is correct, the data is entered into the database for further processing and application. On the other hand, a message or voice is also sent to the operator. The reading of the code is correct and complete, and the reading is completed.
5. Check-sum Character â” When the message data is sent to the decoder, it is then checked and signaled. The general "checksum" character is located after the data message code, before terminating the symbol code. Check whether the decoded data result is correct; if it is correct, it can be input into the system for storage and calculation. If not, a warning signal is output to the operator for re-entry.
Third, the type of barcode
There are many ways to represent bar codes, which can be divided into two major categories: digital and digital representations. However, various agencies can also set their own decoding methods (such as the IBM system). Of course, the use of internationally standardized unified decoding method is more convenient and practical.
There are several types of barcodes that are more commonly used and have been institutionalized:
(a) 5 to take 2 barcodes, this family is mainly industrial bar codes, bar code signals from the five elements of the signal to take out two wide elemental signals and named. It can be divided into three types, namely, industrial type 5 takes 2 yards, matrix type 5 takes 2 yards, and insert type 5 takes 2 types.

(4) The unified product code, which is commonly used in the U.S. and Canada, contains 0-9 ten digits. The basic combination is ten digits. The first five digits are used to identify the code of the manufacturer or organization, and the last five are individual product items. It is up to the manufacturers to make their own edits. Of course, if there are too many goods, they can be expressed in more bits, even up to 30 characters. The unified product code contains a machine-readable bar code; and human-readable numbers, although there are five types of this code, but only A and E types are commonly used. Type A, also known as the basic type, is used to compose a ten-character US National Drug Code (NDC) and the National Health Related Item Code (HRI). The E-type is a zero-shrinking type, which is encoded by a special method. The zero-character element is removed from the original unified product code, and a series of valid characters is formed.
(E) EAN barcode (European Artical Numbering, EAN) â” This code is the bar code of goods currently used in countries outside the United States; it is divided into two types, one is standard EAN-13, which has 13 characters. In the general size of the product labeling, the other is a shortened type EAN-8, there are 8 digital elements, suitable for smaller products.
